Basic Router Setup

Using a router to your network gives you security(depends on how you configure your router), internet connection and sharing of files and printers to other computers.

Guide: here's how you set your router... (Assuming your modem, router and PC is turned off)

1st: Put your router to near to your modem ( to a place where it cannot be easily move)

2nd: Connect your modem to your router (Using RJ45 connect it to WAN port or WWW/Internet/DSL port)

3rd: Connect your PC to your router  (Using RJ45 connect your PC to port 1)

4th: Turn on all devices ( 1st: modem, 2nd Router and 3rd your PC : give at least 10 seconds gap before turning on the preceding device)

5th: Go to your browser and type in 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1 and hit enter
       (Note: its better to check the router manual or use its CD to set it up. Check the manual or the box of the router to know its default router IP)
6th: Once your in, you go to setup and if your using Static IP configure it to static, if your using an account
       and password configure your router to PPOE
7th: After configuring your connection from your ISP(Internet Service Provider) save it and close your router
       setup page.
8th: Your done! Congratulaions!!!!
